Tips on planning and choosing your Wedding Cake

Once you have booked your venue and sorted out your dress you now can start to think about all the other aspects of your wedding.

The Wedding Cake Countdown...

Nine Months Before

Begin looking for a cake maker. Check out wedding magazines, local wedding fairs, wedding cake websites and events or ask for recommendations.

Eight Months

Choose your style of cake. There are many choices available and your cake designer will help you to make the right choice. cake styles include tiered sponge and fruit cake, cupcakes and even a traditional French croquembouche. Once you know what type of cake you like then you can ask your cake designer for a quote and availability.

Six Months

Discuss with your cake designer the following points: Delivery times and venue address, number of guests, wedding theme, final design and decoration of cake.

Three Months

Check with your venue that they will provide a cake table, stand and Knife.

One Month

Telephone your cake maker to confirm all details, final payment dates and re-confirm full delivery instructions.

The Day After

Send pieces of the cake (if you are having a fruit cake) to friends and family who were unable to make it on the big day.
